Usage & Limits Dashboard
Track AI costs, message limits, crawl quotas, and project caps from the usage dashboard.
Dashboard Overview
The usage dashboard is available at Settings → Usage. It shows your current tier, monthly usage totals, project count, crawl quota, and a 7-day activity chart.
The 7-day chart breaks down daily AI cost (Pro/Agency) or message count (Free) so you can spot heavy usage days at a glance.
Limits by Plan
Each plan has three independent limits: monthly AI usage, project count, and per-site crawl pages. All tracked separately.
| Limit | Free ($0) | Pro ($29/mo) | Agency ($79/mo) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly AI usage | 3 messages/mo | Monthly AI cost cap | Monthly AI cost cap (higher) |
| Projects | 1 site | Up to 5 sites | Up to 25 sites |
| Crawl pages | 25 pages/site | 100 pages/site | 500 pages/site |
| AI key | N/A | Managed key included | Managed key included |
Cost Tracking
On Pro and Agency, Agentic SEO meters the raw API cost of every call made through the managed OpenRouter key. This includes all tokens across every tool the agent invokes in a conversation turn — GSC queries, crawl reads, brief generation, and the final reply.
On the Free plan, only message count is tracked — each agent response counts as one message regardless of tool calls. The dashboard displays cost in USD for paid plans, and the monthly total accumulates until the 1st of the next month.
Monthly Caps
All AI usage limits are monthly caps, not daily. You can burst freely on heavy days and use less on others. Usage resets on the 1st of each calendar month at midnight UTC. Unused quota does not roll over.
Project and crawl limits are standing caps, not monthly. Your project count reflects currently existing projects, and crawl pages are the max indexed per site.
Hitting a Limit
Limits are enforced at the point of use with no grace periods or overages.
- Message limit (Free) — chat input disables after 3 messages. Upgrade to Pro to continue.
- Cost cap (Pro/Agency) — agent stops accepting messages when the monthly cap is reached. Resets on the 1st, or upgrade for a higher cap.
- Project cap — creating a project beyond your limit returns an error with upgrade guidance.
- Crawl page cap — the crawler stops at your per-site limit. Page count is shown in the site context panel.
Upgrading mid-month applies the new cap immediately. If you were blocked, the block lifts as soon as the Stripe webhook confirms your subscription.
Managing Usage
- Crawl before you chat. Crawling stores pages in the database at zero AI token cost. Run a full crawl first, then ask the agent to analyze results.
- Sync GSC data first. GSC sync is a data operation, not an AI call. Fresh data in the database means fewer tokens spent during analysis.
- Be specific. Targeted prompts like “which pages dropped in clicks last 28 days?” use fewer tokens than “analyze my whole site.”
- Batch related questions. Ask follow-up questions in the same conversation to reuse context and reduce token overhead.
