Writing Style Analysis
Agentic SEO analyzes your existing content to learn your brand voice, then matches it in every AI-generated article — tone, structure, sentence patterns, and a banned list of AI slop words.
Why Writing Style Matters
AI-generated content that sounds generic is easy for both readers and Google to spot. The difference between content that performs and content that gets ignored is often voice — does it sound like a real person with expertise, or like a language model filling space?
Agentic SEO solves this by learning your writing style before generating any content. The result: articles that sound like you wrote them, with your sentence patterns, your vocabulary, and your level of technical depth.
How It Works
When you trigger writing style analysis, Agentic SEO takes your crawled homepage content, feeds it to an LLM with a structured analysis prompt, and produces 6 style files that capture different dimensions of your voice.
The analysis runs automatically and typically takes under a minute. Once complete, the article writer tool references these files for every piece of content it generates.
Writing style analysis requires crawled site data. Run a site crawl first so Agentic SEO has your homepage content to analyze.
The 6 Style Files
| File | What It Captures | Example |
|---|---|---|
| TONE.md | Formal vs casual, authoritative vs friendly | "Direct and confident, avoids hedging language" |
| STRUCTURE.md | How you organize content | "Short paragraphs (2-3 sentences), heavy use of H2/H3 headers" |
| EXAMPLES.md | Real snippets of your writing | Actual sentences from your content used as voice references |
| CONTEXT.md | Your brand positioning and audience | "B2B SaaS targeting marketing managers" |
| SENTENCE_STYLE.md | Sentence length, complexity, rhythm | "Mix of short punchy sentences and longer explanatory ones" |
| ANTI_WORDS.md | Words and phrases explicitly banned | "Never use: leverage, delve, synergy, game-changer" |
The Anti-Words List
Every Agentic SEO writing style includes a hardcoded ban list of overused AI filler words. These are words that signal “an AI wrote this” and that experienced readers (and increasingly, Google) can detect:
- Banned words: leverage, delve, tapestry, moreover, furthermore, optimize, synergy
- Banned phrases: “in conclusion,” “in today's digital landscape,” “let's dive in,” “move the needle”
- Banned transitions: “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” “Additionally,” at sentence starts
Your custom ANTI_WORDS.md file can extend this list with additional words specific to your brand.
In today's digital landscape, leveraging SEO strategies is crucial. Moreover, it's important to delve into the synergies between content and technical optimization.
SEO works when you combine strong content with solid technical foundations. Here's what actually moves the needle for most sites — and it's simpler than you think.
Uploading Custom Samples
Beyond the automatic homepage analysis, you can upload additional writing samples to refine your style profile. Go to your project settings and use the writing sample uploader to add blog posts, articles, or any content that represents your best writing.
The more samples you provide, the more accurately Agentic SEO can match your voice in generated content.
How the Article Writer Uses Your Style
When the article writer tool generates content, it automatically loads your 6 style files and uses them as constraints. The LLM sees your tone preferences, structural patterns, example sentences, and banned words — producing output that follows your established voice.
If writing style analysis hasn't been run yet, the agent will let you know and suggest running it first. You can still generate articles without a style profile, but the output will use the model's default voice.
After generating your first article, compare it to your existing content. If anything sounds off, update your writing samples or manually edit the style files to fine-tune.
